brilliant idea with regards having a facebook page for the rally info. bebo is sooo yesterday, hopefully this can lead more clubs to switching their profiles over to facebook
was talking to the macra rally crew over the wknd at miss macra and they were tellin me the fri nite is fancy dress with the theme when i was 5 i wanted to be ..... will be very interesting to see what people come dressed as,was tellin the lads here in work and they were saying to go dressed as a housewife, rubber gloves and all, or barbie, a ballerina,a teacher, etc as there isnt a great scope for girls but for fellas u have cops, robbers, fireman, superheros, cowboys, indians, action figures etc will be a funny nite now id say, i love that its fancy dress on the fri nite of the rally brings a bit of decent craic to the forefront !!!
its macra juicy u'll prob end up with a room full of boiler suits and wellies i think its a very open theme u could dress up as anything really. i wanted to be the incredible hulk,
have to agree with ya the fancy dress nyt of the rally is a great part of the weekend. has it always been fancy dress on the fri as i've only been at the last 2 rallies?
ya we were talkin about this over the weekend.someone said laois had the fancy dress 1st.
ya the when i was 5 is very open which is good. when i was 5 i wanted to be 6 so if anyone knows where i can get my hands on a number 6 costume...
also at the weekend & prior to it, people were asking about flying or getting the train to cork & being bussed west from there. many goin to take that option?
unfortunately I have to correct 'Rebel', the fancy dress on the friday night started with Clare Macra when the rally was at the Auburn Lodge Hotel,Ennis ....many moons ago!!! It began because halloween was the Friday - we had great craic myself and the 4 nuns travelled to Clare which took us over 11 hours to reach due to some pit stops and shenanigans in the costumes along the way, the best bit was when Jim McMahon (ex Macra Training Officer)greeted us in the foyer in the hotel and tried to tell us there was a function taking place that would not be our cuppa tea so to speak until he copped on we were MACRA heads!! If memory serves me right Colm McCarthy and Nicholos from CORK made the front page of the Examiner with a thrombone:too
Roll on Bantry 2009....over a decade since the last rally in Bantry, will be down with bells on!!!
As I value my sanity I can't put them up yet lady, sorry
On accomodation for non delegates try Ballylickey,Glengarriff & Durrus, they're all close by & there should be a shuttle bus goin to them from the hotel
The Accommodation List for the Rally is now available to download as WORD from www.carberymacra.com/2009rally. The list is also available to view on the dedicated bebo and facebook pages. The list may be updated with further premises in the coming weeks. We will keep you updated.
well not really talking about the price rebel. was talking about a friend iyour region who tells me Carbury members can't get delegate packs?? I don't know sounds mad to me too
hey vincent. i'm a member of the caheragh club in carbery and i'll b puttin my name n for a couple of packs straight away on monday. to be honest i'd say there'll b 4 or 5 packs being saught by our club. i know its only a short trip for some of us but its better fun staying in the hotel than havin to drive home.
