There was still room in the Tullamore Court when I booked on Tuesday only €110 per room b&b which was not so bad. Even better I acquired a €75 voucher for the court from a loyalty site i use. Score

Hey all, its been ages since i've been on here, and i feel pretty bad that the only reason i am loggin on now is to give out!!

Does anyone else think that €50.00 is a bit pricey for the banquet tickets for QoL??
Our club go every year to support who ever may be representing Kildare, but i feel this year the numbers may be low considering the current state of things!!

It looks like this weekend is going to be a pricey one for anyone heading to Tullamore!
Friday nite - €22.00 (or €25.00 if u book on line and pay booking fee Mad)
€10.00 for entry after PJ

Saturday nite - €15.00

Sunday nite - €50.00 or €10.00 after the banquet

Total €90.00 for the 3 nites (attening all functions)
You then have to get accom and feed and water yourself!

Don't get me wrong, I love QoL and I go to it every year and it really is a great weekend, but could they have been a little bit more recession busting on their prices for the banquet!

Some of us will still be there, but its just worth a thought! And if my memory serves me correctly the banquet wasn't near as full last year as it has been on previous years!

Hi all,

I have to agree with Debbie's post regarding the cost of the entire weekend. I made this point last year and nearly got my nose snapped off on this bulletin board by a Queen of the land committee member for suggesting why dont they offer weekend package tickets for people who will be attending all the functions over the weekend. obviously my comments went on deaf ears and is a pity as similar Macra festivals offer this option and is better value.

I would like to point out that I will be attending the whole weekend as I have done for many a year to support the festival and our club member representing the county and would like to wish all the contestants a fantastic weekend and remember to enjoy every minute of it.

Smile

Sarah

I agreed with you debs, €50 is alot for the banquet, that's why i've stopped going to the banquets at such events. I know in our own county we've had events with banquet dinners and entertainment for €25 - €35.
PJ Gallagher ticket's at €22 does cover your cost into the disco after on the Friday night as far as i know.
I also think these festival weekends should only last 2 nights at the most as well.

But i'm looking forward to this weekend, should be a good one.
BEST OF LUCK TO OUR GIRL MELISSA TARPEY FROM ELPHIN, CO ROSCOMMON.

2 days or 3 days... Its a tradition of the festivals... I cant see Blue Jeans going to a 2 day weekend. I dont think that it would work either because it would make our festival very rushed - taking away from the very relaxed and happy atmosphere that we have...

Sorry to have offended some of you guys again this year when it comes to the tickets!!

We looked at every option to try and reduce ticket prices this year and we simply could not afford it. I'm not going to spend time listing out how much it costs to run the weekend, but rest assured it is not cheap.

However, every girl who has participated in the event over the past 40 or so years always say how well they were treated and how nice it was to be able to stay in a four-star hotel and treated like a Queen for the weekend.

We don't expect people to go to the banquet and if they feel it is too expensive we do offer an 'afters' ticket for €10 which covers entry after dinner to the band and, most importantly, the announcement. So girls, if that's what you are worried about for €10 you won't miss any of the craic.

We offered the PJ Gallagher tickets on sale on Ticketmaster after people complained that Neil Delamere tickets were only on sale from the Bridge House last year. If you buy in the hotel you do not have to pay the booking fee, the booking fee goes to Ticketmaster and not the IFJ Queen of the Land Festival.

So, you could go to the three nights for €35 and just miss the food and the comedian. Also, the Saturday session in the Wolftap is free. Up to yourselves!!
Enjoy the weekend
